My name is Matthew Lucas. I am a video producer, video editor, motion designer, and writer who graduated with a BA in Journalism from Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications in May 2018. This website serves as a portfolio to showcase all of the work I've done over the past few years as a media professional.
I started doing video work in middle school, inspired by a number of YouTube videos and wanting to share my experiences with the world. While I originally wanted to be a fiction writer as a kid, I learned that I prefer showcasing the real world and shining a light on interesting or important topics through artistic mediums like writing and video. As my undergraduate experience drew to a close, I found myself doing exactly that and so much more.
I've taken on a number of successful freelance and pro bono editing projects which have both continued to test my skills as a video/motion editor and expand my portfolio of work outside of a traditional work environment.
I accepted a post-production position at The Inception Company, a premier video production and technology company that reinvented the webcast meeting with Pando and set a new standard of quality in production in its work for its hundreds of corporate clients.
I edited over seven TV shows in full on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for Ithaca College's highly acclaimed television station, ICTV. I also had a hand in production for over half of ICTV's 20+ programs.
I worked for the group of labels behind both The Gummy Bear Song and Engelbert Humperdinck's newer work, publishing over 20 videos a week across all platforms ranging from audio visualizers to lyric videos to meme-style edits and mashups.
